ROCKY POINT

This past week Garet, Paige and I went to Rocky Point with my family. We had a GREAT time! All 7 of us kids got to go except for my older brother Justin and his family. We really missed having them there! The weather was cold when we got there. We weren't prepared for the cooler weather but towards the end of the week it warmed up pretty good. I was hoping for some better "sun" though to help my white skin. My family goes every year to Mexico but because Garet was in school the past three years we weren't able to go. So we were so excited to go and be with family this year. Paige had a good time at the beach. We had to keep her away from sand though because she LOVED to eat it! It's always so much to go there and escape from the "world", eat lots of food, play games and relax on the beach. LOVE IT!!! Here are some pictures....there's ALOT!

Super FUN Weekend!!

We just had a great weekend! It started off with a trip down to Sierra Vista. Paige and I left Friday morning and stopped in Wilcox to pick up my friend Maren and her two cute kids. We had all three kids in the back of my car all in car seats. It was great. They did pretty good on the way there and pretty good on the way back. It was so much fun to ride with Maren. Maren and I have been friends since we were about 3 years old. We just talked about life and did some catching up. When we got to Sierra Vista we met up with all of my other Best Friends from High School and went to lunch. It was fun to be all together again. We hadn't been together since I think Jana's wedding about 4 years ago. We went and ate at a yummy resturant called Outside Inn. Good Job Logan for picking it out! After lunch we went back to Maren's moms to finish visiting. It was so good to see everyone and be all together. I really hope that we can do this again. I miss these girls! Well...while visiting I got a call from my little brother and guess what??? He got his mission call. I was so excited to be home for this. I left Marens and met my family at my house to see him open his "call". He is going to the Chili Vina Del Mar Mission. He leaves September 24th. It was so fun being home and watching him open his papers. All of us siblings were there either in person or over the phone. I am so glad timing worked out and I could be in town when he got them. I am so proud of Jared. He is such a great kid and will be an awesome missionary!
Around 4 Maren and I drove back to Wilcox/Thatcher. I was only home long enough to make some cookie dough before Paige and I jumped back in the car. (This time with Garet and his dad) and we headed off to Mesa. A LOT OF TRAVELING THAT DAY!!! but Paige did awesome! We drove to Mesa to see our nephew get baptized. So, Saturday we got to spend the day with all of Garets family. It was so fun visiting everyone.
So... yes this past weekend was a blast. I am so grateful for good friends, and a wonderful family!

We Miss Texas

Well we have been in Arizona for just about two weeks. We are so excited to be here. Arizona will always be my "home" state but...we do miss Texas. When we first moved out there I NEVER thought I would say that but...I do miss it. After living there for 3 years it just kinda grew on us. One of my friends posted this on her blog and I thought it would be fun to do the same. So, here are the reasons we miss Texas.

We Miss Texas B/C......

1.) I would have to say FRIENDS. I have already said how much we miss our friends there but we really do. We were truly blessed to have such great friends. Heavenly Father knew who I needed and when I needed them. I will never forget all the fun times we had.

2.) Work...I miss my job/hospital, my co-workers, and my patients. I new I would miss work but I never new how bad. While I was working I did complain sometimes about going to work especially after I had Paige but, I really do miss it. I love taking care of kids. I might never have that opportunity again. It was sometimes very hard work, physically and emotionally but it was very rewarding. I miss my co-workers. I'll never forget them!!

3.) The YUMMY restaurants. Garet and I loved going out to eat. There were so many options. Now that we live in a small town I guess we'll save money in that aspect...our favorites to name a few were: Babes Chicken, Outback, Shoguns, Potbelly's, Pei Wei's, Blue Goose, and Jersey Mikes

4.) The Shopping... We had everything you ever wanted just a few miles away... 2 Wal-Marts, 2 Targets, 2 Malls, Babies/Toys R Us, Children's Place (love that store) Joann's, and you can't forget about COSTCO-number one favorite

5.) Bethel School- now for those Texans you might wonder why a street, but I loved Bethel school and the surrounding neighborhood. I miss my morning or afternoon runs through there. The houses are so pretty with the brick, the green trees and green grass. They all were different.

6.) The Humidity- Again this one might sound funny. I HATED the humidity b/c it made you so hot and sticky. No matter in the shade or in the sun it felt the same BUT and a big BUT. I loved the way my skin felt. Since moving back to dry heat I have put on more lotion then I probably did the whole time living in Texas. OK that is an exaggeration but I do feel like I put it on all the time..and since moving back here I have gotten at least 3 bloody noses b/c of it being so dry. So yes in some aspect I miss even the nasty thing people call humidity.

7.) Our ward- We had a good ward. You immediately felt welcome. When we first moved to Texas we were in a different ward. After living there for a little over a year the ward boundaries changed. I was so sad b/c I felt like I was just getting to know people in that ward and didn't want to do it all over again. Well like I said from the first Sunday we were there we felt welcome and wanted. It was great!

8.) The Parks- This was a short lived thing for me. I didn't really learn to love them until after Paige was born. I don't really know why either b/c it's not like she could play on them. I just loved going to them with friends. (when the weather was nice) It was fun walking to them and watching the kids have so much fun. (the play grounds, the lakes, ducks, turtles.)

9.) The Temple- I loved having a temple 20-25 minutes away from our house. BUT...over a week ago we learned that there is going to be a temple in the Gilla Valley that means it will be about 15 minutes away from our house in either direction. But, b/c they haven't built it, and who knows when they are going to start, we get to drive 3 hours to the temple. So, we will miss the temple being 25-30 minutes until they get the temple built here.

10.) All the fun activities we got to do...to name a few: Ranger and baseball games/fireworks, Frisco Rough rider games, NASCAR, six flag season passes, an apartment pool, (don't know where I'll go swimming now) San Antonio-Sea World and the River Walk

Well there you go. Like I said we are glad to be back home but, we will always hold a special place in our hearts for the time we spent in Texas.
